While the tried and true Blambot Casual is a lovely font, I’m rather sick of looking at it after something like 1500 comics. I wanted something that had a little more personality and took up roughly the same amount of space. It also had to be lowercase, and had to have bold and italic typefaces. These are the three I’ve found that I like best (#1 is the original strip). Granted, they’re all VERY similar looking, but the slight differences really matter.
Also, I think I’ll try hand-drawing the word balloons from now on. This first attempt is a sloppy 30-second job but I like how it looks more “organic.”
